Resumo: O objetivo desta dissertação é analisar as influências do contexto filosófico na obra Geografia Comparada de Carl Ritter (1779-1859). O enfoque básico foi a sua noção de história uma vez que, para Ritter, o homem enquanto ser histórico seria o responsável pela transformação da natureza. A obra de Ritter foi profundamente marcada por aspectos inerentes aos processos políticos e sociais nos quais estava envolvida a sociedade Germânica entre os séculos XVIII e XIX, bem como pelo debate filosófico que ocorreu na Alemanha naquele período. Consideramos que a proposta de Geografia de Ritter sintetizou não apenas o conhecimento geográfico então existente, organizando-o sistematicamente, como também procurou dar respostas aos questionamentos de sua época sobre a relação entre a natureza e ao homem. A Geografia de Ritter e sua noção de homem enquanto ser histórico dialogou com a Filosofia da História de sua época, sendo impactada pelas teorias que vão de Kant, passando por Herder até chegarem no movimento dialético da história em Hegel. Abstract: The objective of this dissertation is to analyze the influences that arrived from philosophical context in the work Comparative Geography of Carl Ritter (1779-1859). The basic focus was his notion of history, once for Ritter the Man, as a historical being, would be responsible for the transformation of nature. Ritter's work was deeply marked by aspects inherited from political and social processes in which Germanic society was involved between eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, as well as by philosophical dispute that took place in Germany at that time. Our considerations demonstrate that the proposal of Ritter's Geography synthesized not only the geographical knowledge of its time, organizing it systematically, but also sought to answer the questions that arise in that period about Nature and Man. Ritter's Geography and his notion of Man as a historical being dialogues with the Philosophy of History of his time, being impacted by the theories that go from Kant, passing through Herder until arriving at the dialectical movement of History in Hegel.
