Abstract: Originating of land grants, a large number of old farms and rural properties formed over centuries, which still exist in the northern and eastern parts of the city of Campinas/SP, by coinciding with the history of the development of the region, engender invaluable cultural values that require urgent proposals for their recognition and appreciation, beginning with its preservation, since they are disappearing. The Campinas¿ rural heritage is extensive and diverse, composed of centuries-old buildings, ruins, machinery, roads and many physical traces of preexistence who witness tenses production systems and the overlap of the economic and social organizations. The land and property granted since the year 1788 to Souza Queiroz family (originally belonging to the Brigadeiro Luis Antonio de Queiroz) located in such northern and eastern regions of the city, serve as the object of study for the purpose of this thesis, namely, provide the basis for a project of preservation of Campinas¿countryside and cultural heritage. In addition to its materiality, and according to the contemporary demands to preserve the cultural heritage of the people, the legacy of such farms entails comprehensive inventories that support the planning of effective safeguard actions and base protectionist law review that adequately contemplate the diversity of this specific category of cultural heritage. Despite countless changes of these lands, resulting from many installments over the centuries, the formation of numerous and new axes of territorial expansion and the urban sprawl process on the countryside, it is considered feasible protection and memorial reframing of tangible testimonies and intangible cultural heritage for the citizens. The objective of this research is the recognition of the delimitation and characteristics of the territory shaped by old farms nowadays in the rural-urban boundaries, aimed at assessing the reappropriation potential (active and economically sustainable) of spaces, buildings, the remains and cultural landscapes that form and express part of the history of the formation of the city of Campinas. The research undertaken relied on extensive notarial and field research aimed at territorial delimitation of old farms, today installments. The examination of historical documentation associated with the identification and mapping of remaining architectural assets, the evaluation of the set cultural landscape and archaeological potential of the area under study confirmed the seizure of a cultural path in rural-urban boundaries, to appropriate more widely by population. Based on data collected this thesis is proposed to analyze these historical heritage insertion viabilities (as important as dispersed) in the projects and municipal planning actions
