Abstract: We discuss the meaning of the velocity which appears in Lorentz force law and many reasonable physical possibilities (velocity of the charge rel- ative to an aether, to an inertial frame, to the magnet or wire which generates B, etc). We show the correct meaning and then present a simple paradox: a magnetized needle placed near an infinite rectilinear charged wire seem by different inertial observers. The solution of this puzzle involves important electromagnetic principles
