Abstract: This work reflects on how the expressive, sonorous and political-social function of Elza Soares' singing occurred in the album 'A Mulher do Fim do Mundo', understanding it, as well as the materiality of the sung voice, as enunciative vehicles of the discourse of contemporary Brazilian woman. Released in 2015, on the Circus label, the album - Elza's first disc of new songs - won awards such as the 2016 Latin Grammy and accumulated more than nine million plays on the Spotify app. The objective is to evaluate that there is more in this prominent place than the simple appreciation for the aesthetic character of Elza's singing, but the materialization of broad signifiers personified by a voice, biography and speeches capable of promoting identity. I propose a reading based on the concepts of feminism, on authors such as bell hooks, Angela Davis, Donna Haraway and on what the work of Adriana Cavarero propose, based on the relational concept of singular voices. Into methodological bricolages, I take a look at the singing voice, adding moments of sound appreciation to reading, in a dialogue proposal, considering this, the voice, a topic little discussed and, consequently, neglected in debates that are limited to language studies
