Resumo: A fim contribuir com o debate crítico sobre a obra de Tunga e a temática da morte, especificamente no campo da arte contemporânea brasileira, este trabalho apresenta o exercício de analisar a morte enquanto importante elemento para a compreensão do "jogo poético" de Tunga. Para a delimitação do recorte desta pesquisa, observou-se que, ancorada na temática do amor e da sexualidade em desenhos, esculturas e ações performáticas, a poética de Tunga explora e é constantemente pesquisada sob a ótica da união dos corpos e da pulsão de vida. Em contrapartida, o presente trabalho trata-se de uma construção acadêmica inserida no campo das artes visuais, fundamentada na inversão das abordagens anteriores, na qual a morte será analisada para a melhor compreensão da maneira como o artista brasileiro é capaz de discorrer artisticamente sobre o fenômeno da vida. O primeiro capítulo apresenta o problema, os objetivos e a metodologia da presente pesquisa, além de investigar a estrutura de alguns jogos de palavras, imagens, objetos, desenhos e corpos criados pelo artista brasileiro, desenvolvendo análises comparativas entre o processo criativo de Tunga e os métodos de outros artistas nacionais e internacionais. O segundo capítulo apresenta reflexões interdisciplinares sobre o fenômeno da morte e do morrer com o propósito de contextualizar a análise a respeito da maneira como Tunga aborda poeticamente a temática em trabalhos artísticos executados em suportes e linguagens distintas. O terceiro e último capítulo dedica-se inteiramente à apresentação da pesquisa sobre a obra À La Lumière des Deux Mondes (2005), com o objetivo de aprofundar, a partir de uma obra-chave, as investigações ulteriormente propostas. Destaca-se que a pesquisa sobre a versão de À La Lumière des Deux Mondes instalada no museu do Louvre, em contraste com o contexto arquitetônico e histórico-cultural do local e do ano em que foi concebida, busca contribuir com uma maior elucidação a respeito de suas possíveis interpretações e desdobramentos Ver menos

Abstract: In order to contribute with the critical debate about Tunga’s work and the thematic of death, specifically on the field of Brazilian contemporary art, this work presents the exercise of analyzing death as a central element of Tunga’s "poetic game". For the delimitation of this research’s section, it was observed that, anchored on the thematic of love and sexuality in drawings, sculptures and performative actions, Tunga’s poetics explores and is constantly researched through the optics of the bodies union and the life drive. By contrast, the present work is about an academic construction inserted on the visual art’s field, based on the inversion of the preview approaches, on which death will be analyzed for a better comprehension about the way that the Brazilian artist is able to discourse artistically about the phenomenon of life. The first chapter presents the matter, the goals and the methodology of the present research, as well as it investigates the structure of some word games, images, objects, drawings and bodies created by the Brazilian artist, developing comparative analysis between Tunga’s creative process and other national and international artists’ methods. The second chapter presents interdisciplinary about the phenomenon of death and dying with the purpose of contextualizing the analysis of the way Tunga poetically approaches the thematic in artistic works executed in distinct supports and languages. The third and last chapter is entirely dedicated to the research’s presentation about the work À La Lumière des Deux Mondes (2005), aiming to deepen, from a key-work, the investigation further proposed.
