Abstract: The objective of this research is to show a reflection on the discursive memory of literature and the colonization process in tourism in the light of the articulation of Discourse Analysis (AD), affiliated with Michel Pêcheux, with the History of linguistic ideas (HIL), as well as for the unfolding of these disciplinary fields developed by Eni Orlandi and other authors in Brazil. In order to do so, we analyze the things to know about Brazil in these two fields of knowledge today articulated by the digital, in order to enable the construction of an investigative path that deals with some paraphrastic aspects around the effects of colonization that, in our view, resonate in the process of metaphorization of the textuality of the novel Iracema in the discourse on tourism. What we perceive is the movement of drift in the contradiction of the passage of naming the work of José de Alencar to the beach of Iracema, located in Fortaleza, city of Ceará. In this process, it is shown how the effects of colonization produce their impacts on the relationship between tourists and residents despite the difference in the modes of subjectivation of the capitalist subject today. In order to refine the understanding of the effects of colonial meanings that are updated in tourism, we investigated the conditions of production of the founding discourse in the "Letter of Pero Vaz de Caminha" in the 16th century and in the naturalist accounts in the 19th century. Dealing with the heterogeneity of such materialities endorses the relevance of approaching the contradiction in the position of the subject that clashes with the regularization mechanisms that naturalize the return to the colonial in the discourse on tourism, making a place of great ruptures by resistance unfeasible. That said, we understand that, through the romantic resonances of Iracema in tourism, it is possible to observe discursive regularities such as hospitality, patriotism, exuberant nature that make up the notion of national identity, but that do not remove the evidence or reflect in a historicized way about the colonization process. So the corpus was built mainly around the comments on the Tripadvisor website which, from what was analyzed, sustain the same production conditions that still make the memory of colonization resound in the advertising campaigns of the Ministry of Tourism (MTur) and other media, such as the blog Quanto custa viajar, the Globo.com site, Youtube and the Portal Messejana
