Abstract: This research aims to study the Instagram platform in relation to the eating disorder of bulimia nervosa, to understand how the network may or may not act as a facilitating factor for the development of disease and how it can or cannot also, on the other hand, function as a constructive space for exchanging experiences, debates, and reflections on the illness. The research is developed from the journalist's Instagram profile and digital influencer Mirian Bottan, who has experienced bulimia nervosa since childhood to adulthood and, today, seek to share their experiences with the disease in the social network, questioning the "ideal body pattern" and the ways of fit into it. The methodology starts from bibliographic research with a feminist perspective to understand the body and its relationship with the technological devices, focusing on the digital environment of Instagram, followed by analysis of the profile in question and a semi-structured interview with the research interlocutor. The study analyzes the functioning of the social network as a space for exchanging content, but it also goes through the place of advertising that has been gaining strength on Instagram, still thinking about the self-care industry
