Mg2 +-dependent ATPases were demonstrated with cytoenzymological procedures at the light microscope leveI in euchromatin and nucleoli, but not in the heterochromatin of polyploid nuclei of T. infestans nymphae during development. At the electron microscope leveI, euchromatin did not exhibit the reaction product, a finding which is attributed to slight differences in the methodology as compared with that for light microscopy. The ATPases detected in euchromatin are assumed to be related to its transcriptional activities.

Foram demonstradas ATPases dependentes de Mg2+ com procedimentos citoenzimológicos, a nível da microscopia de luz na eucromatina e nucléolo, mas não na heterocromatina de núcleos poliplóides de ninfas, durante o desenvolvimento de Triatoma infestans. A nível da microscopia eletrônica, a eucromatina não exibe o produto da reação, um achado que é atribuído a ligeiras diferenças na metodologia quando comparado com aqueles da microscopia de luz. Presume-se que as ATPases detectadas na eucromatina estejam relacionadas com as atividades de transcrição
