Resumo: Nathalie Sarraute (1900-1999), escritora francesa de origem russa, fez parte do chamado Nouveau Roman francês, movimento literário que teve início nos anos 50 e que trouxe para a literatura francesa nomes como Marguerite Duras, Alain Robbe-Grillet, Michel Butor e Claude Simon. Se alguns nomes se inscreveram dentro da literatura francesa e alcançaram outros espaços, Nathalie Sarraute é um nome pouco conhecido no Brasil: são apenas três traduções no Brasil, duas delas já esgotadas. No contexto acadêmico, podemos contar com algumas dissertações, teses e alguns artigos apresentados em eventos literários. O objetivo desta dissertação é resgatar uma autora, cuja obra é em si é a expressão de um tempo e de um desejo incessante por uma nova forma literária, capaz de dar voz ao artista daquele período e capaz de satisfazer o leitor de sua época. A forma literária de Nathalie Sarraute não poderá ser separada de suas experiências como leitora e muito menos de sua experiência entre línguas. Se a língua francesa foi sua língua eleita, o russo e outras línguas com as quais a autora conviveu, encontram-se presente em sua construção linguística, na maneira pela qual Sarraute reinventa o francês que dará vida aos tropismos, sua fonte e matéria literária. O resgate aqui proposto se dará pelas vias da tradução parcial de um de seus romances, Portrait d’un Inconnu. Foi a partir do trabalho com a tradução que os elementos constituintes de sua forma literária conseguiram resgatar as discussões sobre as características do escrever entre línguas e também do papel do tradutor de Nathalie Sarraute. Mas qual é o papel do tradutor de Sarraute? Antes de mais nada, demostraremos que o tradutor de Sarraute deverá se colocar no lugar de um leitor capaz de recuperar as pistas deixadas pela autora através de sua intertextualidade, de sua criação literária. Não se trata de buscar uma "intenção", mas de compreender que os intertextos de sua obras são, antes mais nada, matéria constituinte de sua forma literária. Abstract: Nathalie Sarraute (1900 1999), a French writer of Russian origin, was part of the so-called French Nouveau Roman, a literary movement that began in the 1950s and brought to French literature names like Marguerite Duras, Alain Robbe-Grillet, Michel Butor and Claude Simon. If some names have entered the French literature and reached other spaces, Nathalie Sarraute is a little known name in Brazil: there are only three translations in Brazil, two of them already sold out. In the academic context, we can count on some dissertations, thesis and some articles presented in literary events. The aim of this dissertation is to rescue an author whose work is itself the expression of a time and a ceaseless desire for a new literary form, able to give voice to the artist of that period and satisfy the reader of her time. Nathalie Sarraute's literary form cannot be separated from her experiences as a reader as well as her experience between languages. If the French language was her chosen language, Russian and other languages with which the author lived with are present in her linguistic construction, in the way Sarraute reinvents the French that will give life to the tropisms, its source and literary matter. The rescue proposed here will be through the partial translation of one of her novels, Portrait d'un Inconnu. It was from the work with translation that the constituent elements of its literary form were able to rescue the discussions about the characteristics of writing among languages and also the role of the translator of Nathalie Sarraute. But what is the role of the Sarraute translator? First of all, we will show that Sarraute's translator must put himself in the place of a reader capable of recovering the clues left by the author through her intertextuality, her literary creation. It is not a matter of seeking an "intention", but of understanding that the intertexts of her works are first and foremost a constituent matter of her literary form.
