Resumo: Esta pesquisa analisou as atuais formas de utilização do patrimônio nas estações ferroviárias da Companhia Paulista de Estradas de Ferro. Sendo esta ferrovia implantada em 1868, as estações ferroviárias fundadas por essa empresa expressam-se monumentalmente na paisagem urbana e rural de muitas cidades do estado de São Paulo. Essa rede ferroviária expandiu-se entre o final do século XIX até meados do século XX, possibilitando o escoamento da produção cafeeira e uma nova dinâmica econômica nessas localidades. O encerramento das atividades da Companhia Paulista e o declínio do transporte ferroviário de passageiros na segunda metade do século XX resultaram na readequação das funções e atividades de suas estações ferroviárias. Desse modo, o estudo do patrimônio ferroviário pela ótica da Geografia permitiu verificar o estado de conservação de muitas estações ferroviárias paulistas, tendo como foco de pesquisa uma análise mais detalhada sobre as estações ferroviárias da Companhia Paulista tombadas pelo Conselho de Defesa do Patrimônio Histórico, Arqueológico, Artístico e Turístico do Estado de São Paulo ¿ CONDEPHAAT. Sendo o patrimônio uma área de estudo transdisciplinar, propôs-se compreender o processo de refuncionalização desse patrimônio e o que levou à sua patrimonialização, com base nos processos de tombamento e no trabalho de campo realizado nas estações selecionadas, para identificar as dinâmicas de uso desses bens no presente, assim como a valorização do bem tombado como patrimônio Ver menos

Abstract: This research analyzed the current ways of using the patrimony in the railway stations of Companhia Paulista de Estradas de Ferro. Since this railway was implemented in 1868, the railway stations founded by this company express themselves monumentally in the urban and rural landscape of many cities in the state of São Paulo. This rail network expanded between the end of the 19th century and the middle of the 20th century, allowing the flow of coffee production and a new economic dynamic in these locations. The closure of Companhia Paulista's activities and the decline in passenger rail transport in the second half of the 20th century resulted in the readjustment of the functions and activities of its railway stations. In this way, the study of railway heritage from the perspective of Geography allowed to verify the state of conservation of many railway stations in São Paulo, focusing on a more detailed analysis of the railway stations of Companhia Paulista listed by the Council for the Defense of Historical, Archaeological Heritage , Artistic and Tourist of the State of São Paulo - CONDEPHAAT.
