Resumo: Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo verificar como as crianças surdas se relacionam com o gênero literário das fábulas em língua de sinais, analisando a compreensão de histórias narradas por surdos e ouvintes, em vídeos. Existem vários materiais disponíveis em Libras, porém realizou-se a escolha de três modelos específicos para a pesquisa. Selecionaram-se seis fábulas no formato de vídeo, sinalizadas em Libras. O primeiro modelo tem o narrador na tela inteira e fundo sem imagem; o segundo traz o narrador em janela pequena e fundo com imagem; o terceiro tem o narrador em balão ao lado do texto e fundo com a imagem. As histórias foram apresentadas para os alunos do quinto ano de uma escola particular bilíngue para surdos de um município do estado de São Paulo. Os alunos assistiram às fábulas e sinalizaram e responderam, em grupo, a perguntas realizadas pelo pesquisador. Com base em observações das enunciações dos alunos surdos, analisou-se sua compreensão, verificando, também, como a literatura influencia sua constituição subjetiva. Esta pesquisa fundamentou-se nos estudos de psicanálise, nos estudos culturais e nos estudos surdos, entendendo a literatura surda como parte da Experiência Cultural Surda. Como resultado, verificou-se que as crianças demonstraram boa compreensão das fábulas e que a experiência de contato com narrativas em Libras no contexto da educação bilíngue é essencial para seu desenvolvimento linguístico. Abstract: This research aimed to see how deaf children relate to the literary genre of fables in sign language, analyzing understand stories narrated by deaf and hearing in videos. There are several materials available in Libras, but there was the choice of three specific models for research. They selected six fables in video format, marked in Libras. The first model is the narrator in full screen and without background image; the second brings the narrator small window and background with image; the third has the narrator balloon next to the text and background with the image. The stories were presented to the students of the fifth year of a bilingual private school for the deaf in a municipality of São Paulo. Students attended the fables and signaled and answered, in a group, the questions asked by the researcher. Based on observations of the enunciations of deaf students, we analyzed their understanding, checking also as literature influences its subjective constitution. This research was based on the psychoanalysis studies, cultural studies and deaf studies, understanding the deaf literature as part of the Cultural Experience Deaf. As a result, it was found that the children demonstrated good understanding of fables and the experience of contact with narratives pounds in the context of bilingual education is essential for their language development.
