Title: Distorted-wave Cross Section For Electronic Excitation Of H 2o By Electron Impact

Abstract: The distorted-wave approximation is applied for the first time to study the electronic excitation of a non-linear polyatomic target by electron impact. Specifically, differential and integral cross sections for the X 1A 1 → 3A 1 (3a 1 → 3sa 1) transition H 2O are reported in the energy range 12-30 eV. The comparison with the available experimental and theoretical results is encouraging. © 1993 IOP Publishing Ltd.
