Title: Resonance Effects On Satellite Orbits

Abstract: The resonance effects on a satellite with mean motion commensurable with the Earth's rotation frequency is studied. The commensurability produce a number of harmonics in the expansion of the Earth's potential that are critical and generate small divisors. Considering only one critical term and studying the problem in a vicinity of the exact commensurability it's showed that the solutions of the equations of motion depend on this critical harmonic taken into account. The 12-hour satellites were considered in special to show how to use the theory presented for a particular case of commensurability.
