Title: Domain Structure Effects In The Temperature-dependent Resistivity Of Ferromagnetic Metals

Abstract: We present a calculation for the bulk magnon contribution to the electrical resistivity of ferromagnetic metals in the presence of domains at low temperatures (1-4 K). The case of a 180° Bloch wall separating domains is considered and the proper wave functions and dispersion relations are taken for bulk magnons. Several temperature behaviors are found for the resistivity-as T, T1/2, and T3/2-in addition of the typical T2 dependence for the uniform ferromagnet (single-domain sample). Anisotropy effects are also present in the form of different temperature dependences for the resistivities parallel and perpendicular to walls. The extra terms found are compared with the contributions due to surface spin waves localized at the wall and some suggestions are presented aimed at measuring the resistivity with the simultaneous observation of domain configurations. © 1981 Plenum Publishing Corporation.
