Title: Photo-degradable Polymer Films Derived From Low Density Polyethylene
Author: Giesse R.
De Paoli M.-A.
Abstract: In this paper we describe a method of preparation of photo-degradable polymer films by polymerization of vinyl acetate and acrylic monomers in a polyethylene matrix. The photo-degradation of the material obtained was followed by infrared spectroscopy and stress-strain measurements. The results show that the introduction of the second component in concentrations as low as 1% may reduce the polymer lifetime by 50%. © 1989.
