Abstract: Modern photoacoustic techniques have been employed to assess the concentration of commonly encountered adulterants in powdered coffee samples. The feasibility of the method is demonstrated for samples containing a mixture of roast ground parchment, corn, and barley with pure coffee powder. Extension to multicomponent mixes is discussed. © 1984 American Chemical Society.
