|Abstract:||The distribution of supervisory tasks between man (operator) and computer (automation), when they are cooperating at the supervisory level of a process control plant is discussed. Two aspects of the problem are considered: operator modeling and task distribution performed by an element named the observer. The operator is modeled by a normal distribution, with parameters obtained from an isomorphic model. This model gives a response time prediction which represents the human actual state. With this information the observer allocates tasks between man and machine aiming to avoid overload situations.|
