|Title:||Osmosedimentation Equilibrium Under Gravity: Average Molecular Weights And Second Virial Coefficient Of Aqueous Silver Sols|
|Abstract:||Silver sols were studied using the osmosedimentation technique under gravity. The sols attain a sedimentation equilibrium state. In this state, the concentration gradients are dependent upon initial concentration as predicted for ordinary solutions. Applying established mathematical methods, osmosedimentation equilibrium data yield average molecular weights and second virial coefficients for the aqueous silver dispersions. Average molecular weights so obtained are in fair agreement with those calculated from electron microscopy measurements of particle size. The values obtained for the second virial coefficients are discussed. © 1985.|
