|Title:||Artifact-free Measurement Of Attenuation, Impedance And Dispersion.|
|Abstract:||A general method for minimizing measurement artifacts arising from diffraction is proposed. The theoretical basis of the method is presented in straightforward terms, and it is shown how the concepts may be implemented and applied to standard medical ultrasound transducers. Techniques for measuring attenuation and its frequency dependence, and the characteristic impedance (by reflectivity methods) are described. A novel method for measuring velocity dispersion is also suggested.|
