Title: Catalytic Reactions: Determination Of Trace Amounts Of Copper In Natural Samples

Abstract: Under alkaline conditions, copper(II) ions catalyse the oxidation of hydroxylamine to nitrite. This catalytic reaction allows the determination of trace amounts of copper in natural samples. The mechanism of oxidation relies on Superoxide ions generated from dissolved oxygen. Fortap water and lake water samples, the results obtained indicated satisfactory levels of precision and accuracy.
