Abstract: The therapeutic effect of amiodarone for controlling ventricular and supraventricular premature beats was studied in 20 patients. All patients had exercise tests before and during treatment. The patients were monitored for possible adverse drug reactions and changes in the conduction system. With the minimum dose, optimal antiarrhythmic effect was obtained in 90% of the patients at rest and in 60% during exercise. Adverse drug reactions and changes in the conduction system were not observed.
