|Title:||On Some Properties Of The Two-dimensional Phases Condensed On Foreign Substrate. I. Structural Aspects|
|Abstract:||Relaxation calculation on compact monolayers of a monoatomic substance with central forces shows that the equilibrium structure and first neighbour distance of a two-dimensional lattice can be very different from those of the three-dimensional crystal. In the light of this result, epitaxy and possible mechanisms of the layer by layer growth on a structureless substrate are discussed. © 1976.|
