Title: Heavy-atom Effects On The Lowest Triplet State Properties By Pmdr Spectroscopy

Abstract: The internal and external heavy-atom effects (IHAE and EHAE) on the properties of the individual magnetic sublevels of some triplet molecular crystals are studied at 1.6 K using phosphorescence-microwave double resonance (PMDR) methods. The observations on IHAE suggest that the triplet state geometries of bromo-benzenes are out-of-plane distorted. The results on EHAE indicate that the main spin-orbit coupling singlet state is the charge-transfer state of πmolecule-σ*perturber type. © 1976.
