Title: Pressure-induced Level Crossing In Kznf3:cr3+

Abstract: We report detection of the low-field-high-field transition in KZnF3:Cr3+, induced by external pressure, through photoluminescence measurements at both room temperature and T=90 K. Direct measurement of the lowest electronic level separation Δ was accomplished through lower-temperature experiments. Pressure coefficients of Δ and values of the crystal-field and covalence quenched free-ion parameters are given. © 1994 The American Physical Society.
