Title: Thermal Immobilization Of Poly(methyloctylsiloxane) In The Pores Of Chromatographic Silica

Abstract: Poly(methyloctylsiloxane), PMOS, can be thermally immobilized in porous silica particles at temperatures of 80 to 150 °C to produce monolayer stationary phases and efficient reversed phase columns. Thermal immobilization at higher temperatures (180-280 °C) produces thicker ("bi-layer") stationary phases with much lower HPLC efficiencies - in marked contrast to the efficient "bi-layer" stationary phases previously obtained by gamma-radiation immobilization of PMOS.
