Title: Magnetic Phase Diagram Of U(ga1-xcux)2

Abstract: Magnetization results for the polycrystalline pseudobinary compounds U(Ga1-xCux)2 for x ≤ 0.28 are reported. The lattice parameters and unit cell volume remain essentially constant for x ≤ 0.15 where the ferromagnetic phase can be found. As the Cu content increases up to 28%, the lattice parameter a increases while the parameter c decreases and the unit cell volume is reduced. The magnetization for all concentrations depends on the sample history (ZFC and FC). The ferromagnetic transition shifts from 125 K for UGa2 to about 50 K for x = 0.15. At 20% there is indication of coexistence of spin-glass and ferromagnetic phases and at 28% only the spin-glass phase is observed. © 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
