Title: Electronic Excitation Of N2 By Positron Impact

Abstract: Using the Schwinger multichannel method, the cross sections of electronic excitation of nitrogen molecule by positron impact were determined. Suprious resonances were observed in the calculations, but this was remedied by removing configurations weakly coupled by the scattering potential. The results from electronic excitation spectrum indicates that a core-excited shape resonance associated with the a 1πg states is not likely to take place. However, results did not reproduced the near-threshold enhancement observed in the experimental excitation cross section to the a 1πg states.
