|Title:||Erectile Dysfunction [disfunção Erétil]|
|Abstract:||Erectile dysfunction is a high prevalent condition. It affects 50% of men more than 40 years old. The risk factors are the same as isquemic cardiovascular disease and often is a marker of silent cardiac disease. The diagnosis is based, mainly, in medical history and phisical exam. The sophisticated and invasive exams for diagnosis is no more carried out. The lab exams recommended are testosterone, fast glucose and lipid profile. Other exams depend on the history and physical exam. Treatment must observe some criteria: eliminate risk factors as always as possible, be less invasive, safe, effective, minor side effects and less expensive. When the PDE inhibitors were launched, the majority of the patients with erectile dysfunction becomes potent again, however, another part, with more severe disease, will need other therapeutic methods on account of formal contraindications or the drug does not work well. In these patients, intracavernous pharmacotherapy and penile phrostesis are good options.|
