|Abstract:||In different parts of the world, Public Research Institutes have been incorporating different kinds of changes, among which are the ways of articulating with the private sector for the development of research activities and commercialization of the results. Such changes have been subject to extensive analysis and discussions. In the agricultural area, the discussion regards the role of the public sector in research and in the seed market of cultures which have drawn the interest of major multinational private companies, due to their profitability potential. The objective of this article is to conduct the discussion starting with the Embrapa and INTA cases.|
