|Title:||Morphology Of The Dispersion Unit And Germination Of Cordia Sellowiana Cham. And Cordia Myxa L. [morfologia Da Unidade De Dispersão E Germinação De Cordia Sellowiana Cham. E Cordia Myxa L.]|
De Oliveira F.
|Abstract:||Cordia sellowiana Cham, and Cordia myxa L. (Boraginaceae Jussieu) had their dispersion units studied, with emphasis on their morphology and seed germination process. The fruits from both Cordia sellowiana and Cordia myxa are of the drupoid nuculanium type. The protrusion of the primary root in the former species occurs through a pyrene longitudinal fissure; in the latter it is one through an opening in the operculum. In both species, seed germination is of the epigel phanerocotylar type. The seedlings have plicate cotyledons.|
