|Title:||Learning Assessment In Virtual Environments: It's Possible To Innovate? [avaliaç̃o Da Aprendizagem Em Ambientes Virtuais: Épossível Inovar?]|
|Abstract:||This article is based on a study that is being developed by a research group named Evaluation of Information and Communication Technologies, at the Professional Master's Course in Evaluation at CESGRANRIO Foundation. The article aims to debate learning assessment in virtual environments. It presents a brief description of distance education generations, emphasizing the actual resources available in these learning environments. It presents the evolutional process of Distance Education in Brazil, observing a strong tendency for the creation of partnerships, mainly among public institutions. It shows that undergraduate courses offered from a distance in general adopt traditional evaluative approaches, which give stronger emphasis to the final exam, revealing a technicist influence, even when they claim to be constructivist. Based on these ideas, the article presents alternative approaches for learning assessment n virtual environments. It ends reassuring the need to reevaluate public policies for the field that, at the moment, seem more to interfere than to help improve the quality of Distance Education in the countr.|
