|Title:||On A Model-independent Representation For The Real Part Of The Elastic Hadron Amplitude|
|Abstract:||The applicability of Martin's Real Part Formula in model-independent analysis of elastic proton-proton scattering is discussed. Good reproduction of all the differential cross section data at high-energies (19.4-62.5 GeV) is obtained through an empirical parametrization for the imaginary part of the amplitude and the use of a representation for the Martin's formula without the scaling property. According to the fit results, the scattering amplitude is predominantly imaginary, except at the dip region. One zero (change of sign) is observed in the imaginary part of the amplitude (dip region) and two zeros in the real part (at small and intermediate values of the momentum transfer). © 2010 American Institute of Physics.|
