Title: Genetic Algorithm Technique Application For Kinetic Parameters Estimation Of Glycerol Pyrolysis: Hydrogen And Syngas Production

Abstract: Glycerol pyrolysis is a promising way to produce biofuels, e.g., hydrogen and synthesis gas. A methodology to estimate the kinetic parameters using the Genetic Algorithm technique is put forward. This approach is applied to the glycerol degradation to hydrogen and CO in a fixed bed reactor. The results agree with published data, describing the reaction behavior within the temperature range considered. The procedure is reliable and adequate to perform kinetic parameters estimation, especially when the system lacks an available kinetic model. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the CHISA 2012 - 20th International Congress of Chemical and Process Engineering and PRES 2012 - 15th Conference PRES (Prague, Czech Republic 8/25-29/2012).
