Title: A Large-scale Process Simulation Plant Based On The Glycerol Pyrolysis Technology

Abstract: Glycerol pyrolysis is a promising way to produce biofuels, e.g., hydrogen and synthesis gas and avoid its accumulation in the environment. The syngas production process simulation from glycerol pyrolysis has been studied using commercial process simulation environment Aspen Plus™. The process simulation is a helpful tool to evaluate different process parameters. These include energy demand, various feedstock quality effect on conversion and products quality, minimum utility required, optimization of desirable compounds (CO and H2), and process integration. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the CHISA 2012 - 20th International Congress of Chemical and Process Engineering and PRES 2012 - 15th Conference PRES (Prague, Czech Republic 8/25-29/2012).
