Title: Highly Birefringent Polymer Terahertz Fiber With Microstructure Of Slots In The Core

Abstract: A highly birefringent porous terahertz fiber was studied. This fiber is formed by rectangular slots in the core. The numerical analyzes showing that a birefringence ≈0.08 over a wide frequency range can be achieved because of the large asymmetry generate by the slots. The air slots work as a slot waveguide that confine more modal power in the low index region.
