Title: Strategic Management In World Class Universities

Abstract: This chapter focuses on strategic management in World Class Universities while considering Information and Communication Technologies. In order to reach an elite status on the basis of international recognition, different methodologies are being researched and implemented worldwide. The intent of this chapter is to describe how Universidade Estadual de Campinas developed its strategic planning using the Balanced Scorecard management system and to present a new research-based methodology for World Class Universities that considers process improvement, process automation and massive use of Information and Communication Technologies. The text fosters a discussion on the many possibilities of business analytics software to support all types of decisions on the perspective of automating the strategy management processes with business intelligence software. © 2013 Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
