Title: Application Of Residual Of Milled Covers Asphalt For The Purpose Of Mechanical Stabilization Of The Surface Layers Of Unpaved Roads

Abstract: The objective of this article is to study the reuse of residual from the asphalt coating milledin unpaved roads as afinal layer in the surface. The study included realization of laboratory tests using the milled material of streets and avenues from the city of São Paulo which was mixed up with silt-sandy soil, targeting the possibility to apply it on unpaved roads. Laboratory tests showed the possibility of using the milled material in unpaved roads, however to improve and increase the resistance of mixture it is recommended, in certain cases, be incorporated binders. The use of the residual from the asphalt coating milled for application on unpaved roads provides a reduction in demand for new materials, extending the exploration and supply period of materials incurrent mines and quarries. Furthermore the execution of the surface with milled material on unpaved roads decreases the amount of milled waste which would be merely abandoned on the roadside. © 2014 Taylor & Francis Group.
