|Title:||On The Determination Of Environment In The Geographical Speech [sobre As Determinac¸ões Do Meio No Discurso Geográfico]|
|Abstract:||This article aims to contribute to the debate about the epistemological construction of the concept of environment in the history of geographical science. For this presents an examination of synthetic aggregates attributes this concept thought out by Humboldt, Ritter, Ratzel, Vidal de La Blache, Demangeon and Sorre. This, in order, first, to demonstrate the clear theoretical continuity of these authors with regard their meanings on the mesological determinations and, second, to argue against the widespread proposal of the historian Lucien Febvre about the occurrence of a split between possibilism/determinism in core of geographical thought.|
