Title: Multiproduct multistage production scheduling (MMPS) for manufacturing systems

Abstract: This paper represents the capacitated multiproduct, multistage manufacturing planning problem using a special network flow model that takes into account the special structure of the manufacturing systems. This approach encourages the utilization of customized tools for solving actual industry optimization problems that are of large dimension. Taking into account this characteristic, it is possible to have a more detailed representation of the physical system. One example shows the importance of time production coordination. The best performance of the customized algorithm compared to commercial tools is confirmed by an application to a mid-term scheduling of a spring industry.
