|Title:||THE 2P44F CONFIGURATION OF FLUORINE-LIKE SILICON, SI VL|
|Abstract:||The spectrum of five times ionized silicon, Si Vi, has been investigated in the wavelength region 433 to 490 angstrom. The silicon ions were obtained by means of laser produced plasmas. 52 lines have been identified as belonging to the 2p(4)3d-2p(4)4f transition array. All but two of the 30 levels belonging to the 2p(4)4f configuration have been found. The uncertainty of the experimentally determined level values is less than 5 cm-1, relative to the established levels in 2p(4)3d. The identifications are based on isoelectronic comparisons and supported by parametric calculations.|
