Title: The Conceptions of Early-Career Mathematics Teachers Regarding Contributions of their Education for the Use of Information and Communication Technology

Abstract: This discusses the possible contributions that the UFSCar undergraduate program in Mathematics provided for the teaching performance of teachers in the beginning of their careers in the use of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The conceptions of teachers enrolled in the course about ICT were captured through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The results indicated that some courses in the UFSCar program provided the former students with contact with environments of discussion and reflection on the potential, difficulties and limits of the use of technologies. There are indications that practices in undergraduate courses such as discussions about the potential and limits of the use of technologies, research, analyses and handling of software, videos and other activities for the teaching of mathematics, as well as the elaboration of simulated lessons with technologies, can positively impact the pedagogical performance of teachers who graduate from the program.
