Title: SUPPRESSION OF CHAOS IN A CO2-LASER BY FEEDBACK

Abstract: Suppression of chaos in a CO2 laser with an intracavity saturable absorber is demonstrated numerically by using feedback. The bifurcation map as a function of the feedback coefficient shows an inverse cascaded period doubling route. The feedback effect, in this particular system, as an intensity effect pushed the dynamics out of the laser detuning range and hence suppressed both chaos and Q-switching.
