|Title:||EVALUATION AND PERSPECTIVES OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN BRAZILIAN INFECTIOUS ENDEMIAS|
|Abstract:||Considering the scientific and technological developments of the Health Sector in Brazil, the area of generation of knowledge on endemic diseases is recognized as relevant priority. The assessment of the related lines for Research and Development (R&D) constitutes the basis for describing immediate perspectives and priorities. Analysis is proceeded in two distinct and complementary levels. at first, basic epidemiologic characteristics and Health Services demands are reviewed, later scientific and technological difficulties are identified. The studied endemics are Malaria, South American Trypanosomiasis, Leishmaniasis, Schistosomiasis, Yellow Fever, Rabies and Filariasis.|
