Abstract: Eriosema hatschbachii, a new species of Leguminosae (Papilionoideae) from Minas Gerais, Brazil, is described and illustrated. The taxon is morphologically similar to E. floribundum Benth. and E. pycnanthum Benth. var. pycnanthum, but differs mainly in having many parallel secondary veins on the leaflets (similar to the venation seen on nearly all species of the genus Tephrosia) and erect stems with leaves only near the apex.
