Title: Electronic structure of La0.5Ca0.5MnO3

Abstract: Electronic structure calculations on La0.5Ca0.5SMnO3 are reported. Calculations were performed with the Full Potential LAPW method within the Local Density Approximation (LDA) as well as the Generalised Gradient Approximation (GGA). The ferromagnetic phase of La0.5Ca0.5MnO3 is half-metallic, which is important in the relation to the colossal magneto-resistance properties of this compound. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
