|Title:||OBSERVATION OF ACOUSTIC MODES INSIDE THE PHONON-DISPERSION GAPS|
|Abstract:||Raman spectra of Si/GexSi1-x superlattices have been measured, probing close to the mini Brillouin zone edge. The data reveal sharp lines appearing between those of folded phonon doublets. These lines have been interpreted with the aid of a computational method based on the photoelastic theory for low frequency Raman scattering by longitudinal acoustic phonons in finite size superlattices.|
