|Title:||Investigation of the correlation between silo pressure parameters|
da Silva, T
|Abstract:||The simultaneous behaviour of selected parameters is analysed taking into account their variability. An approach to establish a confidence region, considering the wall friction coefficient and the ratio of horizontal to vertical pressures as fitted parameters, is presented. An expression is obtained and shown graphically using available experimental pressure data. The individual confidence intervals for the parameters and the confidence region are compared. The individual confidence intervals are sufficient to determine the joint variability for the analysed experimental models. This procedure is suitable for every experimental data set of silo pressures, since the normal distribution assumptions are valid for it. (C) 1999 Silsoe Research Institute.|
