Title: CONVERGENT METHOD FOR CALCULATING THE EIGENVALUES OF ANHARMONIC POTENTIALS

Abstract: We present a powerful and very simple method to calculate the eigenvalues of one-dimensional Hamiltonians of the form H = 1/2p2 + SIGMA(k = 1)(m)a(k)x2k. The method converges extremely fast for m greater-than-or-equal-to 2. We show that E(n) approximately n2m/(m+1) for large n and verify it numerically for m = 2 and 3.
