|Title:||An applied database system for the optimization of cutting conditions and tool selection|
|Abstract:||The industries dealing with machining and tools' manufacturing generate a large amount of data concerning the machining process. However, in most cases, this information is not used in an advantageous strategy as there is no system dedicated for storing and manipulating such data. The proposal of this work is to present a machining database system involving procedures to make comparative tests using different tools and optimize the attained results. The objective is to find suitable cutting conditions for application at industrial scale. The selection of the conditions and cutting tools was based on the maximum production conditions achieved in the industrial plants. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.|
