Title: | Doubling the data throughput in CDMA cellular networks |
Author: | Gianini, Rodolpho Almeida, Celso de |
Abstract: | In this paper we show how the data throughput of a CDMA cellular network can be doubled by using M-QAM modulation, random sequences and multiuser detection decorrelator (MUD-D) detector. A comparison in terms of data throughput is made in order to evaluate the impact of the choice of the spreading sequence and the use of a MUD technique like MUD-D. Furthermore, for each case considered in this paper, a closed-form expression for the signal-to-noise plus interference ratio is derived regarding the number of users and the type of modulation. This approach provides a more direct and clear way to analyse the performance of a CDMA cellular network in terms of the data throughput. |
